YC Youth Convention or Youth Corruption?
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
Ephesians 5:11
The purpose of this article is a loving warning to all those deceived by CCM, and ungodly conventions such as YC, to depart out of the ungodly worldiness, sin(2Corinthians 6:14-18), and the false jesus promoted by the aforementioned organizations(2Corinthians 11:4,14)that will lead to hell fire and damnation. Our prayer and desire for all who are deceived by CCM, YC, and all areas of Satan's “devices”(2Cor2:11) is that they will repent and receive God's love, forgiveness, and salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible, by faith alone in Him(Luke 13:3;John 3:16;Acts 20:21), in order to escape an eternity in hell, and to receive everlasting life in Heaven(John 3:16).
“For centuries the Church stood solidly against every form of worldly entertainment, recognizing it for what it was. For this she was abused roundly by the sons of this world. But of late she has become tired of the abuse and has given over the struggle. If she cannot conquer the great god Entertainment, she may as well join forces with him and make whatever use she can of his powers. So today we have the astonishing spectacle of millions of dollars being poured into the unholy job of providing earthly entertainment for the so-called sons of heaven. Religious persons now carry on ‘services’ so carnal, so pagan that they can hardly be distinguished from the old vaudeville shows of earlier days. And for a preacher or writer to challenge this heresy is to invite ridicule and abuse from every quarter. When the Church joins up with the world, it is no longer the true church but a pitiful hybrid thing, an object of contempt to the world, and an abomination to the Lord. We must have a new reformation. There must come a violent break with that irresponsible, amusement-mad, paganized, pseudo-religion which passes today for the faith of Christ and which is being spread all over the world by unspiritual men employing unscriptural methods to achieve their ends.” A. The Book of Genesis teaches us that one of the first things God Almighty did was to divide “...the light from the darkness”(Genesis 1:4). The separation of light from darkness was not only to give us our day and night, but also to represent a division of sin and righteousness, “...for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
(1 Corinthians 6:14).
While the Bible clearly teaches us the difference between darkness and light, and warns the true born again believer to be separate from sin and unrighteousness, the apostate church world today has no problem with violating the clear teaching of scripture by mixing darkness with light. This is evident with the term “Christian(light) rock(darkness) or rap, metal, contemporary, punk, etc.”
Many would argue today that so called “Christian Rock” is not darkness, but an avenue to reach the youth of today. However, let us consider some statements from ungodly secular artists, and how they define rock n roll music.
“Rock has always been the devils music...I believe that its dangerous. It could well bring about a very evil feeling in the west... a dark era. I feel that we are only heralding something even darker than ourselves.” David Bowe ( Rolling Stone Magazine 2/12/76) p.83
“The essence of rock 'n' roll is rebellion...The only reason for rock to exist is to be a soundtrack for the movie of teenage angst and anger.”
Lemmy of Motorhead Spin Magazine August 1991 p.53.
“Rock'n roll doesn't glorify God. You can't drink out of God's cup and the devil's cup at the same time. I was one of the pioneers of that music, one of the builders. I know what the blocks are made of because I built them” (Little Richard, The Dallas Morning News, Oct. 29, 1978, p. 14A).
Time magazine also reveals the dark, sensual, ungodly, and sexually perverse nature of rock music,“In a sense all rock is revolutionary. By its very beat and sound it has always implicitly rejected restraints and has celebrated freedom and sexuality” (Time magazine, Jan. 3, 1969).
These secular artists, and sources along with others, admit to the darkness, rebellion, and ungodly nature of rock n roll music, while the church world is deceived and blinded into its acceptance.
YC or Youth Convention 2014 that will take place in Edmonton, Alberta is a perfect example of mixing sin with righteousness, or darkness with light, at the expense of corrupting and poisoning our precious young people to love this ungodly world system, and to embrace secular artists, their unbiblical views, and their ungodly sinful lifestyle. This statement is not presumptuous, but a matter of fact.
While we could use a multitude of examples of this compromise and deception among CCM groups at YC, we will focus on three groups that will be performing at YC 2014, Family Force 5, and Blue Tree.
The group Family Force 5 openly admits to admire Prince, one of the most ungodly perverse rock artists of all time as one of their heroes. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune they reveal their admiration for Prince. "Q: When you guys started out, you were named the Phamily, but then Prince's people sent you a cease-and-desist letter. Were you excited that Prince even knew about you, or was it a big bummer?
A: Prince is definitely one of our heroes. We love the Purple One. We were called the Phamily because there are three brothers in the band. Their mother was a sound engineer, and their father was a manager, and it was totally a family affair, so we thought it was a great name, but Prince did have a project back in the day called the Family. In an interview with craveonline.ca Family Force 5 promotes the ungodly artists and music of this wicked world when they were asked the question, "...What inspires you to write your music and where are these influences coming from? Solomon Odds "We love all kinds of music. Obviously, you can hear that from the record and we pull from a lot of different stuff. [All of us in the band] grew up on music from bands like Prince, the Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters and Rage Against The Machine. [These bands] are a huge part of our sound. People say it’s a really weird style of music and to us it sounds normal because that’s just the way it comes out. We don’t know how to do it any other way… Growing up in Atlanta, we had a ton of Urban and Rock radio stations. Mix all of that music together and you get the Family Force 5 sound" (http://www.craveonline.ca/music/interviews/159800-family-force-5-interview).
Family Force 5, along with other so called "chrisitan groups" that we documented over the years has absolutely no shame to admit that their music is conformed to this ungodly world(Romans 12:2), and that it is in complete "...fellowship with ...unrighteousness and ...darkness" (2 Corinthians 6:14), and covered with spots of the world (James 1:27).
The so called “Christian rock” group Blue Tree unashamedly also admits listening to ungodly secular music by saying,“We all listen to different bands, secular and Christian”(allforgod.com blue tree interview 2008).
These YC groups and artists are clearly not of God by loving the world, and justifying the ungodly, but tragically according to the teaching of Holy Scripture, the Holy Bible, are of the devil. "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him" (1John 2:15). "In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother" (1John 3:10). "And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD" (2Chronicles 19:2). "They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them"(1 John 4:5).
These aforementioned facts manifests a serious deception, that clearly exposes the Satanic fruit of CCM, and proves that it comes from the corrupt tree of rock music that can only “...bringeth forth...” according to the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, “...evil fruit”(Matthew 7:17).
Satan's purpose of producing this evil fruit is to damn precious souls forever in hell through its friendship with the world(James 4:4), thus clearly leaving precious youth and others to have a false salvation(1 John 1:6) that leads to damnation, by making them believe they no longer have to remain “...unspotted from the world”(James 1:27), but can now have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness(Ephesians 5:11).
CCM is a tragic deception that is leading our precious youth to an eternity in hell, through it's promotion of loving the world (1John 2:15-17).
Instead of warning our young people with the dangers, and darkness of these ungodly secular artists & their music, they encourage them to listen to, “seducing spirits and doctrines of devils”(1 Timothy 4:1), thus making our youth enemies of God(James 4:4) that would ultimately end up in eternal regret in the Lake of Fire, unless one repents of this deception, and receives the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour by faith alone (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Acts 20:21).
The truth is CCM (which includes rock, hip hop, punk, metal, etc.)cannot rebuke ungodly secular artists and their ungodly music, do to the fact that they have conformed, and are the byproduct of the world(Romans 12:2), and has its roots in the same corrupt tree of rock music, only with a so called “christian label.” “They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them”(1John 4:5).
It is ironic that the theme of this year's YC is "Hope" when in fact love they are leaving these precious youth hopeless by encouraging these youth to love the world and thus becoming "...the enemy of God"(James 4:4). In reality they are rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ, and are tragically loving "...the god of this world..." (2 Corinthians 4:4), by accepting the darkness of this ungodly world (1 John 2:15-17), its ungodly music, ungodly artists through the endorsment of their YC bands (ex:Family Force 5 loving Prince as their hero, and the influence and endorsement of other perverse and ungodly artists such as Beastie boys, Foo fighters, and Bluetree supporting ungodly secular groups,etc.), movies, etc, and thus "...turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness..."(Jude 4).
Pastors, church leaders, and parents, blindly support this deception and are afraid to take a stand against its ungodly promotion of sin, and worldliness at the expense of our precious young people. As a result they will have to answer to God Almighty for casting a major offense to “...one of these little ones that believe...” in the Lord Jesus Christ(Mark 9:42).
It is time for the true born again Christian to stand firm against so called Christian Contemporary Music that resembles the world and encourages the church to love the world.
We need to speak against Satan's lies and stop our youth from attending meetings such as YC, and listening to CCM that encourages sin, and deception by promoting wolves in sheep's clothing (Matthew7:15) that leads souls away from the Lord Jesus Christ, and into Satan's trap of darkness, rebellion, and sin.
Years ago preachers preached against the darkness of rock n roll and would not allow this ungodly music to come into the church. They called it the devils music, and ungodly secular artists like David Bowe, and Little Richard along with others have agreed with them.
What about your Pastor or church? Do they agree with joining the devils music with Christianity? If so, shame on them for not being a watchmen, and allowing Satan to come as "...an angel of light"(2Corinthians 11:14) to attack the sheep, and to confuse the gospel message with a false gospel that is intended to damn precious souls to an eternity in hell(Matthew 7:13-20; Galatians 1:6-10; 2 Corinthians 11:1-15).
Many would argue in favor of CCM that multitudes have been saved by so called “Christian Rock, Rap, Punk, Metal...” However, the evidence and facts speak on the contrary, that the ends does not justify the means, and that if one truly gets saved at a CCM concert it would be an extremely rare exception, and certainly not be because of the music but in spite of it. If the individual is truly saved they will reject CCM, YC and all it's spots of the world(James 1:27), and live holy unto the Lord, faithfully serving the Lord Jesus Christ(Romans 12:1-2;Hebrews 12:14).
However multitudes are not being saved, but are believing a false gospel of worldliness that damns the soul(1John 2:15-17), and not a genuine message of salvation, repentance and faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ(Acts20:21;2Corinthians 114).
The ungodly evil fruit of this music clearly condemns it(Matthew 7:15-20).
Our youth are encouraged to listen to worldly music, reject holiness, watch ungodly movies and television programs, tattoo and pierce their bodies, dress immodestly, develop liberal views (emerging church), do not hear preaching against sin and true repentance, and are told that preaching against drinking(Proverbs 20:21), smoking(Romans 12:1-2), and cursing(Colossians 3:8) promote legalism, and not something that is clearly condemned in Holy Scripture, courtesy of CCM.
Today it is evident, that there is virtually no difference with the majority of youth in the church and the youth in the world. This fact can be witnessed not by only individuals in the church who are truly saved, but also by those in the world. If there is no true repentance of worldliness and sin, and faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ there can be no true salvation(Luke 13:3; Acts 20:21).
The Bible says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world”(1 John 2:15-17).
The Bible says in Romans 12:2, “...be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Christian Contemporary Music clearly promotes the love of this ungodly world by supporting worldly artists, their music, much of their world views, and other forms of sin this ungodly world produces. CCM is music that has conformed to this ungodly world, which is clearly condemned by God Almighty in His Word (Romans12:1-2) by taking music from this ungodly world which was without dispute rooted in rebellion, sin, and promiscuity, and attempting to make the devils music have fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This music is certainly not of God!
Friend, do not be deceived, reject CCM and return back to good anointed Holy Ghost, gospel music that encourages the soul in Christ Jesus, touches the heart, testifies to the born again experience, teaches sound doctrine according to scripture, and worships the Lord “...in spirit and in truth”(John 4:23) by being separate from this world of sin and dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ(John 4:24;Ephesians 5:19).
If you are reading this article and you are not saved, today is the day of salvation(2 Corinthians 6:2). You have broken the laws of God by either lying, stealing, committing fornication, homosexuality, adultery, getting drunk, or other areas of sin, and you will be found guilty before God on the day of judgment, and deserve His justice which is eternity in hell. However, the good news is that God Almighty “...so loved the world, that he gave..."(John 3:16) the Lord Jesus Christ who is God in the flesh to die and shed His blood on the cross for your sin, to save you from an eternity in hell, and to give you everlasting life in heaven(John 3:16).
In order for you to be saved from hell, and to receive God's gift of everlasting life, you must admit that you are a sinner, repent of your sin, and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour by faith alone for your eternal salvation(Luke 3:3; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Acts 20:21; Romans 5:1; Romans 10:9-10).
For those of you who are truly saved, take a stand for the Lord, and reject the devils deception, lies, and compromise that is in the world, and also this ungodly apostate church world, that wants you to believe that this gospel has changed when the Bible teaches us that it has not(Galatians 1:6-10).
Continue to stand on the old standard of truth based on the word of God (Referring to the King James Bible, God's Word perserved in the English Language-based on the evidence of manuscripts, early versions, early church writings, which the Lord Jesus Christ promised that He would preserve Matthew 24:35, not these new liberal Bible versions that quesion and doubt the authenticity of the Holy Scriptures such as Mark 16:9-20 found in the NIV, NASB, NRSV,etc.)(1 Corinthians 15:58) that those old time preachers preached years ago, and do not allow your children or grandchildren to be taken by the deception of the devil promoted by the world, and apostate church world of today(2 Timothy 4:1-3).
Remember “...for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”(1 Corinthians 6:14).
The Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon, walk holy in His righteousness(Philippians 3:9;Hebrews 12:14; 2 Peter 3:11-14), hate sin(Psalm 97:10), reach as many souls as you can(Mark16:15-16), the rapture of the true church is about to take place, reject Satan's lies and embrace the truth, the Word of God(Matthew 4:4).
